Uninstall SAM Office from a Mac

2 min readLast reviewed: 5 November 2026Reference — live verification pending

Remove the three apps together; keep sign-in and settings unless you deliberately choose a clean removal.

This guide is based on application documentation. Its full procedure has not yet been tested directly; some details may vary by operating system and version.

Step by step

  1. Save and back up the documents you want to keep, then quit SAM Write, SAM Count and SAM Show. If you intend to reset settings, make a private backup of those folders before removing them.
  2. Eject any SAM Office disk image from the Finder sidebar so its apps are not confused with the installed copies.
  3. In Finder, open Applications and move the complete SAM Office folder to the Trash. Approve the Mac administrator request if prompted.
  4. The app removal keeps your sign-in and settings. If you want to keep them for a reinstall, skip the next two optional steps.
  5. For an optional clean removal, choose Go > Go to Folder in Finder, enter ~/.config and move only the SAM Office folder to the Trash after backing it up. This removes the saved sign-in.
  6. Open ~/Library/Application Support with Go to Folder. After backing them up, move SAMOffice (without a space) and, if present, SAM Office to the Trash to reset the app settings.
  7. Check that the application folder has been removed and that your saved documents and backups remain in their own locations. Review Trash contents before permanently deleting anything.
  8. If old app icons remain in Launchpad, eject every SAM Office disk image and restart the Mac. Contact support if stale entries remain.
Before you continue

Moving only an individual launcher out of SAM Office does not remove the shared suite; remove the whole installed folder.

A normal app removal keeps user data. Removing the optional settings folders signs you out and resets preferences; a reinstall will require sign-in again.

Keep any backup of sign-in/settings private. Do not send it in a support ticket or share it with another person.
