SAM Office
Save Office files and choose an editable format
Choose a file location and format, save a separate copy and distinguish editable files from PDF exports.
This guide is based on application documentation. Its full procedure has not yet been tested directly; some details may vary by operating system and version.
Step by step
- Open or create a file in SAM Write, SAM Count or SAM Show.
- Press Ctrl+S on Windows or Ubuntu, or Command+S on a Mac. For a new file, choose a folder and a file name.
- Check the file-type selection before saving. Common editable choices include .docx or .odt for Write, .xlsx or .ods for Count, and .pptx or .odp for Show.
- To keep the original and create a separate copy or another format, use Save As in File and choose a different name or destination.
- Save, close and reopen the copy to check the text, formulas, images or slides in the format you chose.
- Use PDF export for a copy intended for reading or printing, and keep the editable original for later changes.
Before you continue
Save regularly and before closing, restarting, updating or using AI to change content.
Formatting and advanced features can differ between file formats; check important files after conversion.
