SAM Office
Create, open and save a presentation in SAM Show
Create a new slide deck or open an existing PPTX or ODP file, then save an editable presentation.
This guide is based on application documentation. Its full procedure has not yet been tested directly; some details may vary by operating system and version.
Step by step
- Open SAM Show from your applications. Complete SAM Office sign-in if requested.
- To work on an existing presentation, close the template chooser if it appears. In File, choose Open, browse to your .pptx or .odp file, select it and choose Open. The presentation opens with its slides in the thumbnail pane; select a thumbnail to check the content before editing.
- To create a new presentation instead, choose a template in Select a Template and open it, or close the chooser to begin with a blank presentation.
- Click the title placeholder and type a title, then fill the subtitle or content placeholder.
- In Home, select New Slide. Choose Slide Layout for a different arrangement of title and content.
- Use the slide thumbnails to select a slide and review its text. On a narrow window, use the tab selector to reach the ribbon tabs.
- Choose Save in File, or press Cmd+S on Mac and Ctrl+S on Windows or Ubuntu. For a new presentation, choose a folder, file name and format, then save. For an existing presentation, Save updates the opened file; choose File > Save As with a different name to keep the original.

Save regularly: SAM Office does not enable automatic recovery or autosave.
The default format for a new SAM Show file is PowerPoint 97–2003 (.ppt). Use Save As to choose .pptx or .odp.
After opening a PPTX or ODP file, review the text, images and slide layout. If you need a different format, use File > Save As, choose .pptx or .odp and check the saved copy.
