SAM Office
Install SAM Office on Ubuntu
Install the official amd64 DEB package with Ubuntu’s package manager and its required dependencies.
This guide is based on application documentation. Its full procedure has not yet been tested directly; some details may vary by operating system and version.
Step by step
- Use a supported Ubuntu 22.04-or-later amd64 computer and an administrator account. Download the official SAM Office .deb package for your system.
- Save and close any open SAM Office documents, then open a terminal in the folder containing the downloaded package.
- Run sudo apt install ./PACKAGE.deb, replacing PACKAGE.deb with the exact downloaded file name. Keep ./ before a file name in the current folder.
- Enter your computer administrator password when sudo asks and review the package list before confirming. The terminal does not display the password while you type.
- Wait for apt to finish, then open SAM Write, SAM Count or SAM Show from the applications menu.
- Sign in with your SAM Mail account if asked. For a later package with the same package-version number, use sudo apt install --reinstall ./PACKAGE.deb with the new file name.
Before you continue
The administrator password for sudo is your computer password, not your SAM Mail password.
Use apt for the local package so that dependencies are handled. If installation fails, retain the error message and ask your administrator or support.
