SAM Office
Preview, print and export a spreadsheet as PDF
Choose a print area, check page breaks and create a PDF copy from SAM Count.
This guide is based on application documentation. Its full procedure has not yet been tested directly; some details may vary by operating system and version.
Step by step
- Open the sheet you want to share. If you need only part of it, select that range and use the Print Area command in Layout to define the print area.
- Open File and choose Print Preview. Review the pages to see whether headings, rows and columns fit and whether extra pages appear.
- Return to the sheet and adjust page settings from Layout when needed, such as orientation, margins or scaling. Preview again until the table is readable.
- To create a PDF copy, choose File > Export Directly as PDF. Select a folder, enter a file name and save the exported file.
- Open the PDF and check every page, including column headings and totals. Keep the editable workbook as well as the PDF.
- To print on paper, choose File > Print, review the selected printer, pages and copies, then confirm only when the preview and settings are correct.
- Save the workbook if you want to retain its page-layout and print-area settings. The PDF is a separate file.
Before you continue
A wide table may be more readable in landscape orientation. Avoid reducing the scale so far that the text becomes difficult to read.
Check the print area and active filters when rows or columns are unexpectedly absent from the preview.
PDF preserves the shared page layout; use a spreadsheet format when recipients need to edit cells or formulas.
