SAM Office
Create and edit a chart in SAM Count
Turn a labeled range into a chart and check that the chart represents the right data.
This guide is based on application documentation. Its full procedure has not yet been tested directly; some details may vary by operating system and version.
Step by step
- Prepare a table with labels in the first column and numbers in the following columns. For example, use months in column A and revenue in column B, with headings in row 1.
- Select the data including the headings, such as A1:B5. Open Insert and choose Chart to open the Chart Wizard.
- Choose a chart type that fits the comparison, such as columns for comparing monthly revenue or a line for a trend.
- Review the data range and whether the data series are in rows or columns. Use the first row and first column as labels when they contain your headings and month names.
- Add a meaningful chart title and any useful axis titles, then finish the wizard. The chart appears on the sheet.
- Click outside the chart to return to the grid. Select the chart's border to move or resize it; double-click the chart when you want to edit its chart elements.
- Compare the chart with the source values, then save. Confirm that the displayed categories, series and legend match your table.
Before you continue
Include the heading cells when selecting data so the chart can use meaningful names.
Do not treat text that looks like a number as a reliable numeric series; check the source cells first.
The SAM AI panel also offers Create chart from selection. That button creates a chart locally from the selected range without sending a generative AI request.
