Use SAM Write, the SAM Office word processor, to write a document, reopen an existing file and keep an editable copy.

This guide is based on application documentation. Its full procedure has not yet been tested directly; some details may vary by operating system and version.

Step by step

  1. Open SAM Write from your computer’s applications menu or Applications folder. Sign in with your SAM Mail account if asked.
  2. A new text document opens. To continue an existing document instead, choose Open in File and select your file.
  3. Click the page and type a title and a short paragraph. Press Enter to start another paragraph.
  4. Use Home to format the selected text. In a narrow window, choose the tab name from the tab selector.
  5. Press Ctrl+S on Windows or Ubuntu, or Command+S on a Mac. Choose a folder, file name and file type, then save.
  6. Close and reopen the saved file to check its contents. When closing an edited document, choose Save to keep the changes or Cancel to continue editing.

Save regularly while working. A document becomes a file on your computer only after you save it.

SAM Write is the text app; use SAM Count for spreadsheets and SAM Show for presentations.
