PGP encryption setup overview
Understand the key creation, recovery, publication and device-unlock stages of PGP.
Step by step
- Open Settings → PGP Encryption.
- Read Create your key. The key is created in the browser and protected with a passphrase you choose.
- Select Set up encryption when ready and follow the setup flow.
- Keep the recovery code provided by setup; the page explains its role if you forget your passphrase.
- Publish your key lets other Sam Mail users send encrypted mail to you. Unlock on each device requires unlocking the key on that device.
